THEATRE WINNERS!
Below is the press release from our KTA representative:
The Kentucky Theatre Association (KTA) Annual High School Drama
Festival took place this past weekend in Danville, Ky on the campus
of Centre College. For students in our state's high school drama
programs, this annual event is the equivalent to basketball's
Sweet 16 Tournament. Drama teams from 17 schools across the state
came to compete and perform on stage and several mountain region
schools left the festival winning top honors.
Corbin High School received the most prestigious awards
for the production of "Harvey" as the school not only
won The Best Newcomer Award to KTA but actors Katie Noble won
Best Supporting Actress in the state and Evan Baylor won BEST
ACTOR in the state. Dakota Dean of Corbin was also named to this
year's All State Cast.
This year's KTA festival marks the most success and awards won
by Eastern Kentucky's high school drama departments in the region's
history.
